This tricky conundrum inspired Danae Ringelmann to create the successful crowdsourcing platform Indiegogo, with partners Eric Schell and Slava Rubin.
Their aim was to let anyone who isn’t breaking the law and has a good idea, use the platform to raise money.
Released in 2008, at a time when most businesses were struggling, they admit it took a few years for the site to mature. Now a reliable and secure crowdfunding platform, it today hosts over 300,000 projects in 223 countries.
Ringelmann’s relentless goal orientation is often credited for the company’s success.
